Trees are usually safe -
which is why we enjoy them in our daily lives. Let us provide you with the best available evidence to keep it that way. We take a proportionate approach to tree risk management, which means balancing the frequency and type of tree inspections we can undertake with not just the setting, but also the various benefits and services trees provide. We do not undertake tree works, ensuring an impartiality break when it comes to stumping up for tree works.Â
We can prepare Tree Risk Management Strategies at any scale to provide you with a basis for peace of mind. Tesco Stores UK have one, we wrote it!
Perhaps you have a strategy in place, in which case we can help you with formal inspections – whether from ground level of from a rope and harness, a one-off or part of a planned series.
Not certain if it’s safe? Let us know, we take evidence seriously, especially if it’s the difference between keeping large, interesting, and important trees in the scene. We can inform decision making by making the best use of decay testing technology and the literature to investigate further …. and ensure the chainsaw is the last resort.

Arboricultural Impact Assessments & Method Statements
Aspect can assist in preparing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Method statements (AMS) in accordance with BS5837:2012, informed by a comprehensive tree survey.
Tree surveys and related Arboricultural reports are crucial for planning submissions, with some local authorities requiring an Arboricultural report to accompany planning applications. At the planning stage, demonstrating that existing trees have been properly assessed and that trees prioritised for retention are incorporated into the design can significantly support the development application.
The process is broken down into three key stages:
- conducting an initial tree survey and creating a tree constraints drawing that details both below and above ground constraints
- overlaying the architect’s proposed layout with the tree survey to assess the relationship between the development proposals and existing tree stock. This step involves collaboration with the client and architect to suggest any layout adjustments and address tree-related concerns
- once the final layout is agreed upon, preparing the AIA or AMS document for submission with the planning application.
Our Goal is to maximise development potential while ensuring that the proposals are both supportable and justifiable from an Arboricultural perspective.

Woodland Management Plan
With a focus on sustainable forest management principles, we have extensive experience in producing detailed reports, plans, and proposals for a variety of woodlands, catering to diverse management objectives.
In addition to Woodland Management Plans, we offer woodland stock assessments and provide specifications for tree works, following the guidance set by the British Standard Institute. We also conduct tree risk assessment surveys to ensure the safety and health of woodland areas.
Vision Documents
An Arboricultural Vision Document is a strategic tool designed to guide the long-term management and preservation of trees within a specific landscape or development project. Our expert team creates tailored vision documents that outline clear, achievable goals for tree care, growth, and sustainability. Whether you’re managing an urban park, planning a new development, or enhancing an existing green space, our Arboricultural Vision Documents offer a comprehensive roadmap. They integrate best practices, environmental considerations, and future-proofing strategies to ensure your trees thrive for years to come, balancing both ecological value and community needs.

Due Diligence
Our Due Diligence services provide thorough assessments to ensure that all aspects of tree management, environmental impact, and legal compliance are carefully considered before making decisions or investments. Whether you’re involved in property transactions, development projects, or land management, we offer expert guidance to identify potential risks related to trees, tree preservation orders, or site-specific regulations. Our comprehensive due diligence reports help you mitigate risks, avoid costly mistakes, and ensure that your projects proceed smoothly with full compliance and sustainable tree management practices in place.
